​​I find beauty and inspiration in some of nature’s smallest friends and details. Having a biology teacher as a father, I was raised to always take the time to closely observe what nature presents to us. This year, more than ever, I am finding profound healing by surrounding myself in nature’s glory. As Spring turned to Summer and the lush flora and fauna cascaded, filling the emptiness that Winter left behind, I found myself being pulled into the garden. Like roots in the earth, I became grounded. Like bees, I kept busy. My spirit became light as a butterfly. I began to look at nature’s textures and imagined them as textiles and many connections were formed. All of this is reflected in the first collection of my Summer series. With every interaction comes a story of its own. I will share these stories as I release each artwork.
