"Scarf"
$500.00 CDN
Acrylic paint and wool yarn on burlap.
10" x 14"
“It wouldn’t take much for me to get sick as a kid, due to my severe asthma (that I have luckily since outgrown). On the coldest, crispest winter mornings before heading off to school, my dear mom would bundle me up like a neatly and lovingly wrapped, fragile parcel. A soft scarf wrapped around my neck and face was a signature look for me on the playground. The comfort it brought me outweighed the ridiculousness I felt, waddling along in my puffy attire.”

"Mittens"
$500.00 CDN
Acrylic paint and wool yarn on burlap.
10" x 14"
“For several years, my Great Grammie would hand-knit a special pair of mittens for me and my older sister. Under the tree every Christmas morning, wrapped in an old chequebook box, hid a pair of mittens made just for us. These mittens would warm our hands through hours of play in the cold wet snow. As an adult (and textile artist), I have a whole new appreciation for these sweet mittens. Thinking back at the time, energy and love that Grammie put into creating them and to all the comfort they brought us warms my heart.”

"Winter Winds", 2022
$585.00 CDN
Acrylic on gallery canvas.
24" x 12"
"I had doubled up on mitts that day and kept taking off the yellow pair in order to capture some photos (and somehow always dropping them along the way). Those yellow mittens were one of the many pairs gifted to me, knit by my great Grammie. Whenever I noticed I was missing one on the walk, I'd look back and see that happy yellow mitten smiling at me from amidst the snow. Almost like Grammie was waving a friendly hello, letting me know she was there with me."

"In the Winter the Shadows Come Early"
$365.00 CDN
Acrylic on gallery canvas.
9" x 12"
Reference photo credit: Caleb Kearey-Moreland
“In the winter
The shadows come early.
The crescent moon is as crisp as the air itself.
The orange glow of the sun’s ghost
Softly kisses the cool blue dusk.
Within forests’ riches we are safely tucked.
The shadows come early
Making all senses awake and aware.
The mountain wears her remaining trees as a crown.
Snow dusts the ground
Tracing tracks and cracks frozen in time.
Did you hear that sound?
The shadows come early.
He offers me his hand
To guide me through the night.
He will be my sight.
Eyes and spirit stronger than mine
I know together we will be fine.
The shadows come early.
Down the mountain we advance.
We trot a zigzagged dance
‘Round solid ice and stone
To the bright street light
That welcomes us home.”

"Roots"
$150.00 CDN
Acrylic paint, wool fabric, yarn & fibres on burlap.
6" x 6"
"A couple days before my family moved from my childhood home, I spent as much time as a could with the trees on our property. I've never been good at 'goodbyes'. Over the years, I had formed connections and shared memories and stories with these trees... Especially the birch trees. Before I left, I scratched my name into their soft paper-like bark so that maybe they would always remember me like I would them."

"Crystal Of The Sea
$150.00 CDN
Acrylic paint, wool fabric, yarn & fibres on burlap.
6" x 6"
"Years ago, the fear of being stung by jellyfish had kept me from going into the water. As years went on, I began to see this “crystal of the sea” from a different angle. I now admire their beauty, their ferocious mane that can’t be tamed. Their movement choreographed by currents foreknowing, as they guide other small creatures past coastal bluffs eroding."

Acrylic paint, wool fabric, yarn & fibres on burlap.

"Navigating along the rocky shores, if you don't find your balance, you will fall and find yourself hurt. Even then, one wrong step on a rock disguised in beautiful, slimy seaweed, you still may slip."

"Crooked Pinky"
$150.00 CDN
Acrylic paint, wool fabric, yarn & fibres on burlap.
6" x 6"
"I searched through deep and dark crevices between monumental rocks, draped in knotted wrack. All the while, racking my brain as to how I became the woman I am today.
Crooked pinkies are common in the women on my mother’s side of the family. Unwittingly handed down from one woman to another, through generations. Perhaps it’s symbolically akin to generational, familial trauma.
Found protected between a rock and a hard place, I finally found it – a bright little sea star, beautifully symmetrical. I picked it up gently to admire its beauty. Its delicate, resilient little arm moved slowly and before I knew it, it was crooked too. "
